 Mr. Edwin Molina reports
Anthony J. Castagno has resigned as executive vice-president and a director of USA Video Interactive (OTCBB: USVO; CDNX: US; BSE: USF; www.usvo.com), but will continue working with the company on a consulting basis. Castagno is president of The Rowe Group (www.rowe-group.com), a consulting company that specializes in strategic business development and media and investor relations. The board has accepted his resignation with regret.
"Tony Castagno has been instrumental in USVO's growth and progress over the last three years, helping us go from a small company with a dream to a growing company that's now a leader in Internet media delivery," said Edwin Molina, president and chief executive officer of USVO. "He helped bring our StreamHQ to completion, ready to launch in the market, and played many different, essential roles here over the years. We are very happy he will continue working with us on some high-profile projects as a consultant."
Robert D. Smith, Jr., chief operating officer for USVO, today was elected to the company's board of directors. Smith joined the company a year ago and formerly was vice-president of Sonalysts Inc. where he helped build the company into a 500-person international corporation with a diverse line of high-technology services and products. "Bob Smith is a welcome addition to our board of directors, bringing his wealth of technical expertise and experience to the board," said Mr. Molina. "He directly oversaw the design and building of StreamHQ, and now that we're ready to launch, can take a larger role in setting direction for the company."
Smith graduated with distinction from the U.S. Naval Academy, where he was a Trident Scholar and earned a B.S. degree in oceanography and engineering. He served in a variety of officer positions in the nuclear submarine Navy prior to leaving active duty; he retired last year from the Naval Reserve with the rank of Captain. He has pursued graduate-level studies in operations research and computer science, and shared in the Academy Award for sound effects in the Paramount film "Hunt for Red October."
