Then you are going to have to explain me and Jorj and JLA because we do. The idea that religion is the only possible source of ethics and morals is absurd.

How is the society of men different from the society of owls, sharks, sealions, mice,.....?
They do not form societies; they are not sentient. And because of that, they do not have artificial laws and these questions do not arise for them.

And what does "inherent in the nature of man" mean? Civilization and government are not "inherent in the nature of man"; 10,000 years ago they did not exist and humans as a species have been around much longer than that. Democracy is not "inherent in the nature of man"; the Greeks invented it 2500 years ago. If it is "inherent", what of all the time before that? The Rights of Man are not "inherent in the nature of man"; they are only a few centuries old. How can it be that these things are inherent if so much time passed without them?
