Andrew, I'm not sure it will ever get that far down, but I'm prepared for a long protracted bear market. Please note, there are more investors today than ever before, the competition for stocks has created in some ways a scarcity for the "product."

Yes, average volumes have fallen on the exchanges and yes, brokerage firms have lost income from less trading, but there are still more people than ever before in the markets, bear or not. I’m speculating that there is a direct correlation between average P/E, and the growth of online investors.

JMHO, if anyone has a chart to prove or disprove what I said, please post it.
