Sure, there will be the added complexity of using a variable number of time slots for the IP connection, but nothing you can not perfect in the lab. It seems to me, that the rationale of separating the voice signalling is a decent one for that reason, i.e relieve the voice connections from the pesky IP connection requests. s.a.
