Sudan: Oil Company To Operate At Squares 3 And 7 Formed

Khartoum, Sept. 1 (SUNA) -- An agreement on joint operations was signed Saturday between petroleum companies operating at squares 3 and 7 (Upper Nile - White Nile).

The companies which signed the agreement were the Gulf Company, Chinese National Petroleum Company, Al-Thani Corporation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and SUDAPET company.

Through signing of the agreement, PETRODAR Company has been formed from the group of companies.

The signing of the agreement was attended by the Minister of Energy and Mining, Dr. Awad Ahmed Al-Jaz, who welcomed the companies operating in the oil field in Sudan.

He pledged to extend support for all the companies exploring oil at the two squares.

The signing ceremony was addressed by the Chairman of PETRODAR Company, indicating that the company has applied for development of Adariel oil field.

He reviewed the future plan of the company which includes digging 20 oil wells early next year.

He added that more manpower will be employed and provided with training, especially Sudanese citizens.
