PBCCH and PCCCH is great, a must in the future, after
it is tested and verified.

One minor bug and it is potentially a full disaster as the
present standard makes it mandatory, the one and only, for
GPRS handsets in PBCCH-PCCCH activated cells, although
untested and unverified.

I would think investors would be capable of doing that
risk calculation??

The finnish saying is to "buy the perfect pig in the
perfect dark sack"

---

The controllable system,DCCM, would have avoided the
possible disaster, even solved it, but the GERAN decision
seem to have become just to at least avoid that disaster,
for the moment.
(after Motorola "smelled blood", only solution for them,
in the corner)

The major solution is probably hidden in those "operator
priorities" words.

The rest in those "tested and optional" things.

Anyway, nothing new or unknown, happened many times
before,CCITT,ITU, but maybe this first time available
on the internet.

The question for the operators is obviously how many
non-PBCCH-PCCCH handsets, but working, guaranteed, they can
allow on their networks.

Other stuff too, but that is the major issue.

In any case, no problem for some 10-50 millions of
guaranteed handsets for the beginning of next year.
(although DCCM would have solved all problems, now,
in the near and in the far future)

That is, things which are not high up on the
Motorola agenda.
