Rydex Total Assets Update for Friday, August 31st, 2001:

Regular Series:

SPX Long - NOVA 264.4 Million**BULLISH
SPX Short- URSA 233.5 Million
NDX Long - OTC 943.7 Million**BULLISH - Near new 3 year low
NDX Short- Arktos 88.1 Million**BULLISH

XAU Precious Metals 73.6 Million**BEARISH
Banking 47.4 Million**BULLISH
Biotech 340.3 Million
Money Market 1.358 BILLION

*******************************************

Dynamic Series (200% correlation to Index)

SPX Long - TITAN 78.5 Million**BULLISH - Inversion
SPX Short- TEMPEST 82.7 Million**BULLISH

NDX Long - VELOCITY 142.1 Million
NDX Short- VENTURE 81.4 Million**BULLISH

*********************************************

Money Market TA shrink below oversold 1.4 billion on any rally attempt. Likewise, SPX Long Funds TA bump higher on any whiff of rally. Not the needed fear ingredient necessary to dictate a meaningful bottom. While we may be close, sentiment numbers still read we are not yet there.

XAU is at or very close to a bottom before the next launch in September. If we get one hard spike up in NDX On Tuesday or Wednesday, I will most likely redeploy and position into XAU Precious Metals in Regular Series.

Regular Series: 100% Long NDX OTC
Dynamic Series: 100% Long SPX TITAN

Best Regards, J.T.
