Ok, but it is my understanding that the thread of development that led to the P4 was cancelled, or at least delayed. But I don't have any contacts in Intel so I can't say this with any authority. And yes, I realize it was developed over several years, doing a processor, especially one as different as the P4, takes some time. The only ones I have ever seen that believed a processor could be designed in a few weeks or months are some Intel investors who post on the AMD board on "Raging Bull"...
