Jews and Arabs got along rather well until the Zionists entered the picture. Zionism is the source of conflict, because it is an absolutist, racist ideology. Or should I say "idiotology"?

I think you've answered the question about whether Israel could exist with your approval inside any boundaries.

From the Arab point of view, Jews and Arabs got along rather well as long as the Jews were a minority in Arab countries. That is to say, sometimes the Jews were tolerated as dhimmis -- always treated as second class citizens -- and sometimes they were oppressed, forbidden to own land or enter most professions. Sometimes they were massacred and expelled. Check out the massacres of Jews in say, 17th century Yemen or 19th century Tunisia. Arabs and Jews never lived together as equals in any Arab country.

Zionism is the desire of the Jews to have a country of their own where they call the shots. It is neither racist nor absolutist, but you're right about this much, it is the source of the conflict. The Arabs can't stand for the Jews to have a country of their own. It really doesn't matter how Israel behaves; nothing short of Israel's destruction would satisfy the Arabs.
