You don't normally engage in the intellectually dishonest practice of intentionally misinterpreting what others say to create a false straw man you can then knock down. So I will assume that you weren't doing this here, but were simply misunderstanding what I wrote.

I said nothing about "consensus thinking at any cost." Remember, though, what you said that started this discussion was that "There is no such thing as consensus building." Which you later agreed was incorrect. There is a vast difference between denying the existence of consensus building and what I advocated, which was debate geared toward the possibility of consensus.

Please check back what I actually said before criticizing it. I realize it's something often overlooked by many on this thread, but Canadians, as the kinder, gentler North Americans, should be better at it.
