Reagan nearly crushed our economy. Record deficits, S+L debacle. But America was very resilient. Some of what Reagan did turned out to be a good investment. But four years of Bush Sr recession proved the RR economic scheme doesn't work. Also we had race riots and real problems with the middle and lower classes. Crime soared during the RR-Bush years. That's when gangs came out. So if Clinton was "lucky" about prosperity does that mean RR was "lucky" about the Soviet Union collapsing during his term and Gorbachev being the leader who really ended it? What if Groby hadn't been there and the USSR leader was a hawk? One thing I know, Clinton kept this country very-very happy and secure, the greatest optimism ever, except for a few right-wing malcontents who had to go into his bedroom to try and ruin him. I don't applaud his sex life but it was common knowledge so who cared? No other crimes were committed. And if you're thinking favors granted Bush-Cheney give them out like pens. Now let's find out what Bush-Cheney's crimes really are. Should be fascinating.
