I was involved in negotiations with IBM to provide services on an IBM project just under a year ago. They were running a project to "Win2000ise" a major govt arm. My prices were too high for them and I wouldn't reduce. I knew I could get (and did) the prices I wanted from other clients. But they also knew they could get the job done cheaper elsewhere. Had they used my company, they would have stil made a very nice mark up on my services but they were going for every bit of margin they could get and good for them too!

All in all I dealt with some very switched on people and they are very shrewd indeed.
