Yes, after you enter an order within the spread, you should see
the quote change to reflect it in a couple seconds.

Note however that according to Nasdaq study although spreads declined
by about 31%, the percentage of inside the spread trades has
declined quite significantly. I wish more people would enter
orders inside the spread, it would benefit everybody by making Nasdaq
a true auction market.
