Thx Roebear. Very important stuff.

Sure glad we've got a group on this thread that's politically incorrect enough<G> to openly discuss the real risks China poses to Taiwan in the immediate future vs 5 years from now.

Months ago, on the old thread, if I posted good articles that effectively explored th various aspects of the Chinese threat? I was bashed as a paranoid or a right winger.<lol>

Fact is, the name callers were all big Clinton/Gore voters who IMO are dangerously complacent in thinking China is little more than a backward, over populated country whose role in the world is limited supplying them with cheap consumer goods. Denial in their stock market trading seems to go hand in hand with denial in their politics.<g>

Another important aspect of a Chinese attack on Taiwan within the next 1-2 years would be a heavy hit on the US dollar. One of the prime reasons for the dollars primacy has been - since the collapse of the former Soviet Union - no nation has successfully challenged American military power anywhere in the world. If China can do so with a successful invasion of Taiwan? Just watch the stampede out of the buck and into gold.

OT/Lotta house projects this weekend. Beautiful day for being outside too.

Best,

Isopatch
