Bush is going to try and PR photo op his way through the hard work now, disseminating false impressions, deflect blame, lying outright, putting sugar frosting on everything, running against "corrupt" DC (which he has made even more corrupt) and dodging tough issues. For months I have been asking WHERE IS BUSH ON THE ECONOMY as the market slides? Finally now he says it's his #1 priority. But in fact it isn't, he's just read the recent polls and sensed vulnerability there. He is a poll-driven politician and really stands for nothing but his cronies. He is shrewd on the stump but he is being handled daily. And the fact is he has no strategy on the economy except his huge tax breaks 50% to the very rich which will hurt us not help us because they will drive the government deeply back into deficit spending. Also his tax breaks are heavily backloaded and we will never be able to afford them in coming years. They are budget busting loot and con jobs which were depending on huge surpluses which will never arrive and will crush Social Security as well as many other vital programs. There may be some waste left in government to cut but the biggest waste of all is the big tax cuts to the rich, as well as the energy gougings Bush-Cheney were so supportive of this last year.
