<<Meticulous, pettifogging precision, eh? But then, what's a SEMITE in the first place?? >>
But apparently complaints of misappropriation of the term “anti-Semitism” has had an effect on all those people in Durban – they just voted to replace all condemnations of anti-Semitism (lest it be misinterpreted as condemnation of prejudice and abuse against the Jews) with condemnations of anti-Arabism and anti-Islamism. As far as accusations of racism – when Sudan, with its Moslems enslaving its Christians and animists, and Iraq, with its gassing of its Kurdish and Shiite citizens, and Malaysia, with its regular Chinese pogroms, vote to brand anyone as racist somehow that does not make it so. Now, here is a conspiracy theory for you: do you think that xenophobic elements in Europe contributed to the circus in Durban to deflect attention from treatment of minorities in Europe? It’s a shame that a conference intended to address serious problems degenerated into what we are witnessing. |
