With all the gold lending by the central banks, a half-bred form of fractional-reserve gold currency market has been created. What is missing is the ability to print it, unless they start painting bricks with gold paint. (Of course, many big banks would go along with that too). This fractional reserve methodology allows the gold they control to go a lot further. As long as the "owners" never actually demand their physical gold, it can be lent many times.
