Terayon Vindicated & S-CDMA Advantages

While Terayon will contribute to the IPR pool of DOCSIS it will only have to submit the S-CDMA specification (as all DOCSIS parties have to). As you know CDMA is quite hard to implement (as Nokia et al will tell you!:) so I think Terayon is still going to benefit by being ahead in the advantageous S-CDMA technology...

As for cost - S-CDMA seems like it still gives quite tangible competive advantage to cable operators utilising it, as it allows them to offer broadband data capability over existing cable plant without the expense, delay & complication of having to upgrade the cable plant - also its other advantages may also be more closely looked at by cable operators now that CableLabs has finally seen sense...I hope Terayon are aggressive in taking advantage of this progression - their single chip designs are an encouraging step though...

Regards
