John Shannon -- re : "the fate of Q lies in the hands of very few, whose interests are imprecisely aligned with Q's."

Qualcomm is trying to make money.

The "few (the proud, the ... (?)) ..." -- (meaning cell phone "carriers") (or "service providers") are also trying to make money.

Qualcomm's technology is more spectrally efficient (more calls per slice of wireless spectrum) (quicker "hogging" the "line" when downloading some stupid bit of music), etc.

Thus, the interests of "the few" ARE aligned with Qualcomm, I believe.

Make money.

Q -- by selling CDMA technology.

Service providers -- by using CDMA technology.

Jon.
