It seems that bats and owls do eat scorpions. That's important information! In retrospect, an owl or two that we used to hear at night around our house are gone. Also, we haven't seen any bats for quite some time. That makes me wonder...what would cause the owls and bats to have disappeared? Could it be an increase in the number of cats we have? In other words, could our additional cats have inadvertently, and indirectly, caused the scorpion outbreak by upsetting the balance of power?

I'll spend more time at the various sites you sent, and see what I can figure out. This is really interesting stuff.

BTW, I don't feel too badly about admitting I have a scorpion problem. I just read the other day that our Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright, has termites in her house. <g>
