I look at yield if unchanged, yield if exercised and downside protection as key fields. I like yield if unchanged to be 4-5%+ and downside protection to be 10%+. I actually add the two percentages together and sort descending to compare a number of possible CCs.

As far as PEs and underlying evaluation, I just wrote another post about that. Currently, I'm using IBD, Value Line and S&P ratings and am trying to decide which is best. Do you use any rating services for stocks?
