I agree it would make a hell of alot more sense for Vodaphone to be going CDMA2000 but it ain't gonna happen for all the reasons we know all too well. But keep in mind that so far the most aggresive launch of WCDMA in the Eu is I believe by a carrier in Italy which is slated for end of 02 and Q's MSM6200(WCDMA/GSM?GPRS)chip is due for sampling in first half of 02. As long as Q performs as it has in the past it will deliver the MSM6200 ahead of schedule which means that most if not all those WCDMA network launches will be using Q asics, which means we win!
Another point to keep in mind, what will the Eu carriers abandone 3G for, GPRS??? I think they have no choice but to move forward at this point for they are now a little bit pregnant!
