John; the OI is "open interest" my take on that is the contracts
plus any open bids. The OI can be compared to a chart on the
option..and generally you will see the past volume just about
matches it. Large OIs are worth watching, often tell you much more
than news reports, the ones that are longer term "leaps" are
the most meaningfull. As for interpertating them, thats a very
mixed thing and often even the experts don't agree. I have my
own take on what they mean to me. AM I in below the mean average,
or am I on the short end of the stick, that's my largest
concern.
