Re Sony Athlon Systems SOLD OUT Hi milo, Is this necessarily a good sign? Its quite unusual to have a build to order OEM block the buyer from placing an order even if it means a longer wait. The less optimistic among us might see this as a precursor to the RX line being phased out. I find it difficult to comprehend that in these sluggish times Sony can't get enough 1.0 and 1.2 GHz athlons to satisfy their customers' demand. Given the free fall in pricing, either the athlons have finally reached the price point where demand overcomes supply or AMD is foolish for not satisfying their dwindling large oems before saturating the DIY market leading to artificially low asps and inability to service precious large customers. Sold out products typically don't need price cuts, especially of the magnitude we've seen. Something is plainly wrong with these mixed signals.
