Oh, quite. After all, politicians are renowned for cutting spending when money is short, aren't they.

Borrowing? Never.

They'd much rather dump those expensive pork projects, their constituents will understand. And cut wasteful subsidies to inefficient cash-losing industries, whether direct (like farming) or indirect (as with defence, or subsidised exploration for oil)... yep, that's sure to happen.

Presumably you're rich and competely self-sufficient, able to pay for all conceivable needs (including those now free...). And are confident that your children will be, too?
