Apple should put out a multi-multi- processor machine (let's say 8 CPUs or more) as a top end machine at some astronomical price. Even if they only make 10 to 100 of them and sell them all, they would get bragging rights and forever blow away the MHZ myth. Maybe have one on display at each of their Apple stores. All they need is a highly visible application tailored to use OSX & parallel processing to the max, something like Adobe Photoshop? Something that gives a ten fold boost in performance, not just a twofold boost. They wouldn't have to sink a lot of cash into it. They could write it off as advertising: "The fastest personal computer on the planet -- by a factor of ten: 800MHZ machine beats 2 GHZ by a factor of ten" etc. A ten second commercial:Side by side frames: Top of the line Mac presses a button, blinks, and goes to lunch with beautiful coworker. Top of the line PC sits thumping the desk with his fingers for another nine seconds... thump ... thump ... thump ... etc.Loser! Dan
