All good points, but still merely to say that the federal government does more, and that it was voted upon. Since I am not referring to whether or not these things are good, but merely whether they are nefarious, that is, a result of sinister behavior, I will not argue that this is good, just that it is mainly a result of historical pressures, and not conspiracists. Also, in a situation where taxation is generally deemed a legitimate function of government, it is wrong to stress the coercive element, I think. The Founders didn't say "No Taxation", but "No Taxation without Representation"..........
