The numbers from South Korea indicate that total subscriber numbers declined slightly. That may be the connection to the price drop.

The drop in the number of subscribers is a little curious considering that there were over 1m handsets sold during the month. All of the articles that we have seen seem to indicate that August was another good month. Handset sales in Korea wont be a factor holding back Qualcomm for this quarter....

According to the data, the supply of handsets in July reached 1,123,000 units, down 17.9 percent from 1,368,000 units in June. The figure represented a 132 percent rise on-year, however.
