In 2002 nothing is going to happen in the wireless market. Siemens is offering Time-out Program to its people. According to Ericsson nothing is going to happen in 2002 "The flat-to-modest growth would continue into 2002, said Sten Fornell, chief financial officer." "Siemens gave the 14,500 staff at its unprofitable ICM mobile phone unit the chance to take paid leave for up to 12 months in a bid to rein in costs."

I'm expecting pretty soon Nokia to drop the third shoe. Obviously, the 2G rollouts in the developing countries is not picking up the slack. These rollouts will be completed -latest- by March. These are the last frontier of GSM. The what? Is there money for all wireless vednors to live -or hybernate- through this year that nothing is going to happen? Or will there be some mergers among players?
