I said "By the time I saw Cisco it was too late"

And yes, believe it or not, I was on mars for a while. Actually working in Europe, which is somewhat removed from the center of the universe in California. I wasn't paying attention. As I said, I am not omnipotent and I don't see everything.

When Cisco actually did cross my radar screen (97 if you can believe my ignorance) my valuation methodologies indicated it was priced fairly for the risk and gain. So I didn't buy it (I was looking for undervalued stocks, not fairly valued ones. GG wasn't in my thinking back then). Then I watched it and it became well overpriced and I found some errors in my methods and so on. I am self taught in this school of hard knocks.

This has the potential of getting into an "I bought abc on date x and pdq on date y" kind of useless discussion, and I won't go there. But if I could please beg for that medal back, I did take decisive action on other stocks that were more topped out (in hindsight of course) than Cisco. Imagine, bailing out of optical (i.e. NT) at the end of July... That was a difficult call for me. At the time. It is very very hard to know you are right when the planet seems to be betting the other way.

Although if you are handing out medals for crystal ball gazing I don't know I deserve it. If they are for luck, I'll take ten.

John.
