<< Asia (and the world where competition lives) will sail forward with CDMA 2000. >>

... and GPRS ... and WCDMA. <g>

Even in Korea where competition has not lived before we will now see some.

What the heck, Europe is now wide open for competition in IMT-2000 spectrum, so maybe we'll see some there.

<< All is fun, except for those who think Nokia has a chance at 40% market share. >>

I happen to be one that happens to think that 40% market share is pretty aggressive, but then again, I thought 35% was. Good to set aggressive targets however.

If Nokia can sustain margins, I'm quite comfortable with 2 X their next closest competitor.

Speaking of market share I was kind of hoping that CDMA would have more than 12% of mobile wireless market share worldwide by now, It is kind of disappointing that CDMA hypergrowth came to an abrupt halt some 6 quarters ago and market share has gradually eroded. Do you think this is a "marketing" problem?

<< Suggest those who do, beware. >>

You hand out a lot of "bewares".

Are you a CFP?

Since we are into "bewares", best we that hold Qualcomm "beware" of the China Unicom target of 50 million CDMA subs by 2005 end.

Gee that's "fun" doing "bewares".

I'll have to do it more often.

Naw. I'm not a CFP. I guess I won't do that very often.

Here is hoping that China Unicom has more than 50 million subs by end 2005.

Best to you,
