15:57 ET Market Action : Several possible explanations being given for the more than 2% plunge by the Nasdaq since the beginning of the hour, including a) rumor of Oracle preannouncing its quarter, b) negative comments by Dan Niles on Comm IC stocks during a CNNfn interview, and even c) General Motors report of a 20% decline in passenger car sales in August (which would more explain the Dow's sharp decline from its highs).
