Wordscanheal.org is yet another quasi-faith-based, right-wing, let's-get-back-to-values, Norman Rockwell-esque, feel-good organization that conservatives will contribute to in large numbers ... but won't accomplish diddly. The cultural turnaround will only come about when "traditional values" outsells sex, violence and trash talk on commercial television, cable television and in movie box offices. On a related note, one of the reasons I watch a few hours of the Jerry Lewis telethon every year is to hear some of the old Alan King-style comedians. One never sees 'em on TV anymore ... all one sees on TV these days are obscene, trash-talking, unfunny comedians who base their entire act around the sex act. We're probably not that far apart on this issue. I think that the pendulum needs to swing back to center some ... but not at the expense of free speech.
