Karen you DID sign the condo fee contract. A condo fee is in atleast that sense more like a utility bill then a tax.

We use politics to get change if we feel strongly enough about it. Or we bail out and go somewhere more to our liking.

Why leave? I think I'll bail out but stay put. My townhouse is now seceded from the union. Anyone want a non-paying job as my ambassador to the US? <g>

Of course that is a joke but it goes back to my point about the government not being in a special privileged position (except for its greater power). As a practical matter the government would not let me succeed and they have more power then I do. Also even if I did have some massive power it would not be very practical for me to secede. But it wouldn't be wrong for me to secede, just not practical.
