i appreciate you defending me, but to be honest i don't mind talk about gold at all.

i just don't want the thread to be overrun by people hyping ten cent penny stocks which are certain to strike gold just as soon as they get financing and conduct a pre-feasibility study. you know what i'm talking about, fly by night operations that aren't meaningful to the gold industry.

i would prefer discussions about gold and oil be limited to the direction of prices, industry events that affect the fundamentals, the best way to play it, etc. i would prefer not to have 10 posts where everyone chimes in about their favorite junior mining play. i would much rather hear about where people think gold is going, why it's going where it is, how long it's going to take to get there, the best way to invest in it (stocks/futures/bullion/mutual funds), etc.

oh and another thing. i'm not afraid to hear diverging views about commodities--i welcome them. i don't even care if you taunt me, just so long as you give some thoughtful reasons for why you think commodities will suffer, or which commodities will suffer, for how long they will suffer, etc.
