No need to throw mud with comparisons to X. BTW, in the United States, some judicial positions are appointed, some elected.

What "gun" is pointed at the state to create a fair system? I do not disagree that the state should streamline, although it is not always clear what that entails, since some redundancy is built into the system (a bicameral legislature, federal and state/provincial governments, courts of appeal, for example) to ensure that power is not too concentrated and that there is fundamental fairness. Finally, asserting that the only moral justification for a national income tax is national defense is a non sequitur, and requires argumentation to support it...........
