We got another official looking "AOL" billing dept. e-mail. There is a link in the e-mail, when you get to the web site it looks exactly like AOL's pages. It even has links to AOL e-mail, faq's, etc., which apparently all go through this site and which work. I did a tracert of the IP address, and the final destination was in AZ. The site would only open in AOL this time, not in Internet Explorer. Last time it would open in IE.
I sent the info to AOL and got zero response. Last time I only got form letters in response, until someone finally said it was a bogus site, but that they had no interest in looking at that site, because it was not part of AOL. The site was up for a few days, last time I checked, it was down.
I wonder how many credit cards and addresses they stole. I never read anything on-line or in the paper about it. I wonder why it took AOL so long to get it down, and why it keeps popping back up.
