| If nobody needs anything faster than AMD's fastest, nobody needs a P4 either, Elmer. Except for the huge class of users running carefully selected Intel benchmarks when they're not spending all day running the Windows MP3 encoder, of course. That's really a broad market the P4 is targeting, isn't it? MP3, spec, and a few carefully selected photoshop operations, that's no doubt just what you use when you're not spouting nonsense on SI. What the heck, you may as well throw in quake, if you feel the need to run it at 220 frames per second instead of 200, or something like that. I'm sure the mind of Elmer requires those extra 20 frames a second. The same so-called mind that likes the Intel line that 600mhz faster means something, even if it doesn't show in any real programs, except in the case of the Itanic, where 800mhz is all you need, because mhz doesn't mean anything. |
