Well I think we have probably examined the issue enough to understand each other. Taxes where just a detail the overall point I was making was that IMO government does not have a unique moral status. On a purely practical level it has more responsibility because it has more power, but in the abstract it enjoys no special status.

This quote from "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" deals with this idea.
