MSU Devices Announces First Customer and Strategic Distribution Partner for New V5 Next Generation Internet Access Device.
DALLAS, TX, Sept. 5 /PRNewswire/ - MSU Devices Inc. (ticker symbol: MUCP.OB) announced today the signing of a sales and distribution agreement for the MSU Devices V5 product between its wholly owned UK-based subsidiary, Web2U Limited, and CPS Broadcast Products (CPS), one of The Netherlands' leading developers of advanced analogue and digital set-top boxes. MSU Devices V5 is a next generation Internet access device built upon years of experience initially begun in the UK with Web2U Limited.
Under this new agreement CPS Broadcast Products will become MSU Devices' distribution partner and has agreed to purchase 10,000 V5 devices for delivery in the fourth calendar quarter of 2001. CPS forecasts to purchase a further 30,000 devices in the next 12 months and 60,000 devices in the subsequent 12- month period.
CPS Broadcast Products, a member of the Pijnenburg group, specializes in the development and production of advanced analogue and digital set-top boxes for satellite, cable and terrestrial markets. Its broad knowledge of available technologies enables CPS to offer highly innovative development of broadcast devices and ensures solid design, development and production support.

The MSU Devices V5 Internet access device is powered by a National Semiconductor® Geode(TM) processor and displays World Wide Web data on television sets and standard PC computer monitors and flat panel LCD. MSU Devices V5 utilizes the Microsoft® Windows®CE operating system and Internet Explorer(TM) 4.0, and features software applications including Pocket Word(TM) and readers for viewing spreadsheets and PDF files. Multimedia capabilities include Windows Media Player(TM), Macromedia® Flash(TM) and support for Java(TM) using Insignia Solutions'® Jeode(TM) Java virtual machine technology. The impressive software capabilities of the MSU Devices V5 allows customers to use the device as a set-top box for accessing the Internet including the World Wide Web; as an Internet appliance; or as a thin client with server-based computing applications. MSU Devices V5 comes equipped with an infrared keyboard for use from close range such as on a desk or as far away as the living room sofa. Optionally, a user can use a standard wired keyboard/mouse, all attached through standard PS/2 connectors. Access to the Internet is through either a 56K modem or via standard Ethernet. Ethernet also allows a user to connect to the Internet using a broadband DSL or cable modem. MSU Devices V5 is also equipped with two USB ports, a smart card interface, and a PCMCIA interface and an expansion bus connector.
