HRD/1xrt doesnt need to build out anymore backbone, just upgrade existing systems. Therfore the DSL's of the world will have even more comp into the homes....no?

I must have misunderstood your point....HDR will definitely provide competition to DSL/Cable. I had thought that you meant that HDR would worsen the glut in bandwidth capacity. Since this capacity is at the backbone of the internet and not the last mile, HDR can only help drive utilization of this bandwidth. Much of the collapse in telecom would have been avoided if any of the last mile technologies (cable/DSL/fixed wireless) had been successful.
