A trade war between Canada and the US will not be good for Canada. It enjoys an enormous trade surplus with the US. Lumber is a tiny fraction of this trade. And Canada is not innocent when it comes to trade protectionism. There are laws in Canada that impede imports of the few products where the US enjoys a surplus: movies, music, etc.
