I haven't used XP, but this is what I've heard.

XP stands for "Windows Experience" and not "Cross Platform" like some think. It will however run on multiple machines such as PCs and unix machines like HP and Sun.

XP is due to be released in October, but may be delayed by the justice department if Microsoft is required to ship XP without Internet Explorer bundled with it.

XP will replace both Microsoft operating system lines. The latest NT version is "Windows 2000" which is actually "NT-5". The latest home version is "Windows Millennium Edition" or "ME".

There will be several XP products for office, professional, and home use, but the OS kernel will be the same. The primary difference with the multiple XP lines will be server applications, but all the commands will be the same.
