I think most likely Cisco will be around. I just spoke to 4 engineers working for Cisco and things still look OKAY.
When any body buys a edge router the first and foremost requirement is whether that nth generation router inter-operates with Cisco router.
Some startups or IPOs companies are wishing they get acquired by Cisco. 17 Billion in cash for Cisco can go a long way.
