Of course, dropping speed will not in any way negate endemic, chronic asynchronous handoff and associated power consumption problems presently besting NTT... And count the base stations NTT presently has in Tokyo (still with failing service) and begin to get a feel for the quantity that would be required throughout Japan - or for Gent's networks... Gent's projections for any commercial UMTS service (outside a city test like NTT's) in Europe in 2002 is, at best, a pipe dream. Appears to be no need for Gent to worry about cdma2000/UMTS compliant networks and handsets.... Unless he alters course, Q's cdma2000/GSM chipsetsets will fit the bill in perpetuity.
