your response is misguided. If you want to make comparisons let's make some but they will all fall far short of the current topic which is our future. I like the comparison of building a bridge: how about the Verrazano spanning between Brooklyn and Staten Island or the Eads Bridge linking Illinois and Missouri. Do you have any idea how many critics spurned the progress of building those bridges? Lastly, do you have any idea how many of today's critics have ballyhooed the progress of our telecom bridges?

My point is that your argument is not strong. Facts and figures relating to a comparable field is just that - comparable. You may think that, because you have studied the market and that "if the Q would have been given a foothold in fortress Europe," the future would have been here. Hogwash. For the simple reason why critics have gained a foothold. No, the telecoms will have to press on regardless of what anyone may say, may declare, or may downright condemn. The world of communication, paramount to existence itself, will probably expend more than what is reasonable. That's the nature of imperfection.
