<never buy (if another package is available) anything with a handwritten restock label ... nothing wrong with restocking returns ... all companies HAVE to do THAT .. but Fry's checking out a faulty return does not mean that it goes back ... unfortunately it ends back up on the shelf ... *(sometimes) .. so it is just best to find one without the handwritten label >

Yep. I went to Fry's - Houston, to buy a Compaq 1215 notebook per ad in local paper, salesman said sure, just a minute, was gone about 5, came back with a return, opened, bar code missing, gave me $120 off the ad price, so I went for it. Next a.m. the ad was still another Ben Franklin less, so I took it back and went through their convoluted return process.

Strolled back to the notebook department and picked out a Sony FX250, different salesman, same story. Asked the new guy if it was store policy to push the returns to customers wanting new units. He said he couldnt say that but to talk with the dept mgr. Told him nevermind.

Went to MicroCenter, bought a WinbookJ1, more computer, more memory, DVD/CDRW, Less money.

At Fry's you have to pay close attention and keep your hand on your money.
