Schaeffer liked potential symmetric VIX top I think sentiment is worsening though, to the level that many are beginning to smell the recession imminently, and its effect on stocks for months to come I also wouldnt be surprised to see a higher VIX before a counter-trend rally anything over 30 indicates heightened fear or big bear sentiment but I expect a little higher than 30 also esp when a cavalcade of warnings arrives on cue but what of forward guidance? it could actually be expressed as improving remember that Leading Econ Indicators have risen 4 straight months / JW
