O.T. I'm sorry to be the bearer of such awful news, Doc. My first reaction was to think it was either a lousy joke or a rotten ploy as Hutch's been my antagonist for the entire time he's been part of the SI gold and/or gold derivatives discussion. Our give 'n take, has been part of SI's gold history since almost day one upon his arrival here.
As I said earlier, it was a wierd way that communication happened. In gentle but forthright candor, I expressed to Brad my surprise at being contacted with such horrific news about Hutch. Evidently I was the last one to publically post, albeit tongue in cheek, to Hutch, and when Brad turned on Brad's computer, he knew enough to go to SI, and click on his bro's profile. There my name emerged as an "inbox" contact since I last addressed my tongue in cheek response to him.
I gently told Brad that I was not one of Hutch's friends but certainly was NOT glad to learn of his terrible change in physical condition since just last Monday. Brad replied that Hutch was unconscious but gave no further personal information, and I can't blame him since I'm not a "friend" per se.
I just replied to Brad [who said he was returning to Canada today and did not indicate he would be contacting me again] that Hutch had friends on SI and that I had already posted to one thread of his change in health status and would be posting similarly to one other [meaning this one.] Furthermore, I suggested, if at all possible, he continue to check Hutch's PM as he is able in order to collect good wishes and personal expressions of concern and support from his brother's SI friends and acquaintances.
I too, have wondered if we are dealing with comatose from stroke or burst anuerysm or some such. Naturally, I was gentle and expressed sincere concern for the brother's heavy load of responsibility and absorption of details at this awful time for Hutch's family. I felt I could sincerely offer that type of support even tho' Hutch and I were never on friendly terms.
I'll attempt to pass along your support and best wishes. If you go down to the search engine at the bottom of each thread post, click people, and click "Hutch" and then click the top name, I believe you'll be able to express directly to the family your concerns and thoughts of support at this time, by sending a PM to "Hutch's" profile name.
Again, my sincere supportive thoughts as you process this loss of interaction with a valued entity in your 'net life.
And yes, Doc, I am happy to report I am well. Thank you for asking.
