Kiddie DVD..................................
This could be a big seller of PC-DVD and the add-in DVD card business. Not available until 4Q97. It looks like Intel is a co-sponsor . . .
Maybe the logo should read Intel/Cube Inside!

BODY: June 19, 1997--TerraGlyph Interactive Studios demonstrated the first children's software title to come up on Digital Versatile Disc (DVD) for the PC platform at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Atlanta.
Working to create an application that would show off Intel's new Pentium II processor on DVD, TerraGlyph announced a beta version of Warner Bros.' Steven Spielberg Presents Tiny Toon Adventure series: "Buster and the Beanstalk," an award-winning, original children's adventure tale that comically follows the classic story of "Jack and the Beanstalk."
Aimed at children ages 3 to 10, TerraGlyph's new DVD title, designed for the Pentium II processor, features crystal-clear animation -- as beautiful an image as people get from a great television set -- displayed on a PC. On top of that, children can interact with the characters in the story.
"We believe 'Buster and the Beanstalk' answers Andy Grove's challenge to develop products that can win the 'Battle for the Eyeballs' for the PC platform," Joseph Gaucher, president and CEO, TerraGlyph, said. "The Pentium II processor allows developers to meet consumer expectations for fabulous quality images. And for developers, on to Digital TV. We're ready!"
Intel's new Pentium II chip gives developers more processing power and bandwidth to hurdle problems that have been barriers in the past to create full, robust multimedia applications.
"We're finally at the point everyone has been talking about -- the convergence of the PC and the TV," Gaucher said. "Software developers can now produce wonderful products using the new Intel architecture that will entertain children and, at the same time, provide terrific educational value. We call it 'education through entertainment.'"
TerraGlyph's title will be available at retail fourth quarter 1997. It will be playable with a mouse or any other standard controller, including the new infrared remote devices just coming onto the market. The product is also multi-language capable for global markets.
Founded in 1994, TerraGlyph Interactive Studios has headquarters at 1375 Remington Road in Schaumburg.
